Feed Editor allows you to upload your RSS feed to a server using the built-in FTP-client. To invoke its window, click the “FTP Upload” button in the Feed toolbar or select the “Upload…” item of the Feed menu.

You will need some information before you can upload the RSS feed to your website. This information will most likely be the same information that you needed to upload web pages to your web server.

FTP server

FTP server address (it is usually the domain name of your website).

Username

Username to log on to the FTP server.

Password

Password to log on to the FTP server.

Use passive mode

If this is checked, the program will use the passive mode to work with FTP server (this is usually the case with an xDSL connection)

Path

The folder of the FTP server, where you want to place your RSS feed (e.g. “www” or “public_html” or “mainwebsite_html”).

Filename

The filename that you want to assign to your RSS feed.

Feed URL

The probable link to the uploaded RSS feed (may be significantly different from the real one).

After all necessary data is entered, press the “Upload” button. Feed Editor keeps a log of FTP sessions. To view the log, press the “View Log” button.

Notes.

Use the standard extensions.xml or .rss for your feeds.
Be careful when filling the “Path” field. The most popular mistake is providing an incorrect path to the server folder.
If you use an image in your RSS feed (the “Image” tab), make sure that the path to the image (the “Image URL” field) is absolute (for example, http://www.mysite.com/my-image.gif).
