Including Image in Feed

Adding an image to your RSS feed can give it a more professional look. As defined in the RSS specification, feed images are relatively small. Typically, icons, logos, or other small images that are related to the feed contents are used as RSS feed images.

RSS feed images are not included inside the RSS feed file. The RSS feed image is a separate image file that is linked to by your feed. An RSS feed reader will download your feed, and then download the image your feed links to. If you use Feed Editor to load an image from disk, or to modify an existing feed image, you will need to upload it, in addition to uploading your feed, to your website. The graphic upload function is almost the same as RSS file upload function described above.

The RSS specification supports only .jpeg, .gif and .png images.

Notes.

The “Image URL” field must contain a link to the image file (for example, http://www.mysite.com/rss-image.gif). The “Link” must contain a hyperlink that will be associated with your Feed Image. To make sure you have entered the data correctly, use the preview function.
Besides the primary Feed Image, you can insert images to your RSS feed using the corresponding HTML tags (in your Feed or Item description) or as enclosures to your items.
