Dead product?

I'm wanting to mix feeds and came across this product. I downloaded it to see if it does what it sounds like it does, but it doesn't seem to work as I'd expect. I want to merge 3 feeds into one. When I do this and mix the feeds, it's a "static" feed in that it doesn't update with the 3 feeds. What's the point? Why would I want to select individual items or all the items that are pulled in and display those? Why not something that dynamically updates the merged feeds? I don't want to have to go in everyday or several times a day and update the feed manually.

Or have I done something wrong and what I want to do is possible, but not clearly explained how to do it? I'd happily pay for the software if this is what it did.
